It is a gift from me to the buyers when I am Not showing at traditional art galleries, as I have to up the prices of my paintings due to showing fees and commission rates. I create art for the people, not for the galleries, so I always reduce my fine art prices when I show at local venues.

There were a small trickle of people in and out... which is nice in order to meet and greet almost everyone... well those people whom aren't too shy to ask about the dynamics behind the artwork. ;)

The "Blue Buddha"

In many ancient paintings and illustrations Buddha is depicted with blue as his skin color. The symbolism is vast but fundamentally symbolizes medicine, healing and a detachment of materials objects and things and includes such things as transforming anger into mirror like wisdom.

Next is the Gold Leaf application which is completely meticulous work, attaching gold pieces large or small one-by-one and all by hand. Wow!!!

Its almost difficult to apply the gold leaf to this painting as I love how this monochromatic piece looks already. You'll have to come to my Meet & Greet the 10th to see how it came out, or visit my webpage when it is finished. :)
